Camel Festival, Bikaner

The camel, often referred to as the « Ship of the Desert, » holds a special place in the hearts and lives of the people of Rajasthan. To honor this vital animal, the Camel Festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bikaner every January. The festival brings the city to life, beginning with a vibrant and colorful procession of beautifully adorned camels that march gracefully through the streets. The majestic Junagarh Fort provides a stunning backdrop for the festivities.

Following the opening procession, a variety of exciting activities take place, including tug-of-war, camel dance competitions, puppet shows, and a contest to find the best breed of camel. The highlight of the festival is the captivating Camel Dance Show, where expertly trained camels dance in perfect synchrony to the rhythmic drumbeats and music, leaving the audience in awe.
