Situated at the base of a hill, the shrine is the tomb of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, a Sufi saint who arrived in Ajmer from Persia in 1192. Known for his devotion to social welfare and the upliftment of the impoverished, he dedicated his life to spreading peace and compassion.
