Jain Dilwara Temples, Mount Abu

Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, is renowned not only for its cool climate but also for its architectural marvels, including the famous Jain Dilwara Temples. These temples are considered some of the finest examples of temple architecture in India, showcasing intricate carvings that reflect the exceptional craftsmanship of ancient artisans.

The oldest temple in the Dilwara complex is Vimal Vasahi, dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara. Construction of this temple began in 1031 and took a remarkable 14 years to complete. Another notable temple is the Luna Vasahi, dedicated to Lord Neminath, the 22nd Tirthankara. This temple took 15 years to build, starting in 1230.

In addition to these, the complex also houses three other temples: Bhimashah Pittalhar, Mahaveerswami, and Khartar Vasahi. These temples, with their stunning marble carvings and architectural grandeur, make Mount Abu a must-visit destination for history and architecture enthusiasts.
